The Tin Foil Ball

This is a blog about the world's second largest tin foil ball. The largest in fact belongs to The Flying Pie Pizzaria in Boise, Idaho. There also was a much larger ball created back in the 80's.

But my ball will be the best, I assure you. Why? Because I'm determined and dedicated. I am willing to make the world's largest tin foil ball, even if it takes a lifetime.

It all started with a rubber band ball, however. I was at my neighbor's house when I first saw one. I inquired about it to find out that there was a bouncy ball center. Not much happened until again, I was at another friend's house and I saw another rubber band ball, but it was made entirely of rubber bands. But again, I thought nothing of it.

It all started with me, one night, bored in my room with a rubber band gun. I had got it as a present, and now had many, many extra rubber bands. I grabbed a handful and slowly began a ball. For about a year I slowly built it up to a 10 lb. ball that could just barely fit on regular-sized rubber bands. This is when I realized I'd never make the 3000 lb. record ball.

So instead I tried foil balls, figuring the record was easier. I had an early, small ball that was constructed with foil from school lunches. This however, was accidentally thrown away one day, but probably for the better as the moist, dirty foil woud've been likely to grow mold.

So again, I created a foil ball anew, and I stuck with it. Thank you for reading my semi-interesting introduction, and now onto the facts! (I will update with pictures as soon as my camera gets fixed.)

Current Circumference: 49"
Approximate Diameter: 16"
